Despite getting a start later than desired, we had a great
drive across Washington and into Wallace, Idaho. We made up time by lunching in the Transit,
and driving a constant 67 mph. Along the
way we reminisced about our past bike trips and enjoyed the scenery, and the huge
music library Diane had loaded onto the iPod.
The Transit Connect does pretty good on gas, so we only made
one gas stop towards the end of the 400 mile trek. We are
happy with the Transit ’s performance, except for excessive road
noise when traveling on older interstate pavement.
We are now in our somewhat modest hotel after having a
somewhat blasé meal, sort of par for the course when on a bicycle trip, even
when traveling by motor vehicle. Since
breakfast is often our favorite meal when traveling we are hoping for a great
experience in the morning, and another good traveling day, to Livingston, MT.
